Adding a 20 amp breaker. Standing off to the side takes a person largely though not completely out of harms way. Only purchase 15 amp breakers if you know your new circuit will only have light total loads. Use 20 amp circuit breakers since these allow for fuller loads on a given circuit.
The amount of energy being transferred is directly proportional to the amperage value rating on the circuit breaker. The wires coming out of that breaker may not be thick enough to handle 20 amps and you risk fire. 12 10 etc then you ll have to run new thicker wires from your box to handle your 20 amp needs.
